TGI 472 – Can I? YES YOU CAN!
Ryan is away this week, so Joce takes over the show with ESO: Blackwood talk and special guest Scott Johnson! They go over the stories they love, where ESO might head next, the new companion system, Oblivion themed public dungeons, and more! Looking to start fresh in ESO, check out this Complete Beginners Guide. They then take a look at the highlights of the Summer Game Fest kickoff stream, and last but not least, chat about the newly announced MMO Palia.
TGI 471 – Open World Gibberish
As of this recording, Nintendo has yet to announce the rumoured Nintendo Switch Pro. But that doesn’t stop us from chatting about it at the top of the show! When we get to the games we’re playing, Ryan talks about his time with Biomutant, while Jocelyn dives into planetary settlement in Imagine Earth. In the news, PlayStation dropped about 20 minutes of PlayStation 5 gameplay for Horizon Forbidden West, God of War pushed to 2022 but will be available on PS4, and finally BlizzCon 2021 has been cancelled.
TGI 470 – Board Game Dodge Roll
Board games return to The Gamers’ Inn thanks to Jocelyn’s long weekend time with Horizon Zero Dawn: The Board Game. Ryan continues his Mass Effect adventures as he nears the end of Mass Effect 1 in the Legendary Edition, but then also dips his toes into Mass Effect Andromeda? In the news we got a new teaser for the next Dark Pictures Anthology game, Summer Games Fest will have an announcement filled event on June 10th, we know who will be in the Resident Evil crossover with Dead by Daylight, and Horizon Forbidden West will have a game play showcase THIS WEEK.
TGI 469 – Push The Flirt Button
Mass Effect is BACK with the Legendary Edition, bundling the original trilogy with (almost) all the DLC, remastered for a new generation of consoles. We’ve only had a chance to focus on Mass Effect 1, but we talk about our history with the franchise, and what we’re looking forward to. Including maybe possibly the chance of Mass Effect 3 multiplayer coming to the Legendary Edition?
TGI 468 – What a Charming Village
Ryan kicks things off with some Xbox stuff, including his short amount of time with the Xbox Series X. Plus a good chunk of time with the Xbox Cloud Gaming iOS beta. He also picked up an 8Bitdo Mobile Gaming Clip for Xbox Controllers to help with his testing effort. Jocelyn watched a good chunk of Resident Evil Village through iosefka’s Twitch streams, so we have some viewers impressions on the latest scarefest from Capcom. Finally, Ryan has a quick Xenoblade Chronicles 2 update. Over to the news, Sony confirms that PlayStation 5 stock struggles will continue into 2022, and Nintendo stealth announces Game Builder Garage.
TGI 467 – Glass Eye Doorknobs
Ryan attempts to trick Jocelyn into bringing more TV content on to the show, but it doesn’t fly, so he settles for books. This week, Ryan brings the Ask Iwata book to the show, which includes interviews with the late Nintendo President Saturo Iwata. We offer our thoughts on whether Resident Evil Village is in our future, thanks to Ryan’s time with the demo. Finally, we close out What We’re Playing by closing the book on our return to Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (for now). In the news, Microsoft commits to PC gaming with a few cool announcements, Mass Effect Legendary Edition is confirmed to have a large Day One patch, Sony invests in Discord for future partnerships with PlayStation, and a few high level details from the ongoing Epic vs Apple trial (like Sony’s insistence on being paid for cross-play and Metroid possibly coming to Fortnite).
TGI 466 – Piles of Systems and Anime
We kick off the show with a story of saying goodbye to Ryan’s PlayStation 4 Pro. Then, as promised, we accept the challenge to return to Xenoblade Chronicles 2 on Nintendo Switch. You’re welcome Discord! Finally, we close out the show with the news, featuring a change to the weird Resident Evil Village demo schedule, Super Mario Party FINALLY gets more online support, and Former Dignitas and Houston Rockets execs launch Esports Certification Institute.
TGI 465 – Many PAC-MAN! Handle It!
Jocelyn returns to the inn with a brand new 4v1 scary game called Home Sweet Home: Survive. Ryan on the other hand, tries another 99 battle royale game, this time featuring the lovely PAC-MAN. Also there’s a new episode of Mythic Quest available to bridge the gap between Season 1 and 2 (we swear this isn’t a TV podcast). In the news, the release of Days Gone on PC has us talking about that other Days Gone news, Luigi joins his brother in LEGO form this August, and Resident Evil has a lot of fun planned for their 25th anniversary.
TGI 464 – It’s An Odd Oddworld
Travis from Pixel Mountain Pop Art guests this week to bring Horizon Zero Dawn back on The Gamers’ Inn! And speaking of returns, Travis has been working his way through the mainline Final Fantasy games and goes over the Lightning Trilogy of Final Fantasy XIII. Ryan on the other hand is exploring Oddworld Soulstorm on PlayStation 5 thanks to PlayStation Plus this month. In the news, Bioware shows off their work on the new Mass Effect Legendary Edition, Aloy arrives in Fortnite (like everyone else not associated with Nintendo), and a new Jason Schreier report shares inside details from some of PlayStation’s internal studios.
TGI 463 – Random Cutscenes of Climbing
New guest host Dustin (@TriplePhase3 on Twitter and Twitch) joins the show to help Ryan break down what’s fun, and what’s weird about the new co-op sci-fi shooter Outriders. We both played it on Xbox Game Pass, and chat about the story, gameplay, and of course those random transition cutscenes. Dustin also talks about his time with the new killer in Dead by Daylight, and slowly solving puzzles through the creepy worlds of Little Nightmares I and II. In the news, Game Pass gets another boost with backwards compatible games coming to xCloud, and the ESA confirms a digital only E3 2021.
