TGI 632 – The Disappointment in Me
After discovering the next entry in the Dark Pictures Anthology will release later this year, Ryan and Jocelyn check out The Devil in Me, which they missed when it released in 2023. Until Dawn released its movie first look, which leads nicely into Ryan’s thoughts on Secret Level on Amazon Prime. In the news, Nintendo announces a LEGO Game Boy, Nintendo sent their lawyers to Genki’s CES booth over their Switch 2 mockup, we got a whole bunch of leaks for the Switch successor reveal, and Assassin’s Creed slips by a month (but not by a fiscal year).
TGI 631 – The 2025 Look Ahead
For our first official episode of 2025, we catch up on The Game Awards announcements that we haven’t had a chance to discuss. Which nicely leads into a look forward towards the next 12 months of video games! Over in the news, Secret Level is getting a second season, Sonic the Hedgehog 4 will arrive in Spring 2027, Sony announces multiple movie and TV projects for their video game properties at CES 2025, and Nvidia unveils the next generation of their graphic cards.
TGI 630 – Games of the Year 2024
It’s that time of year again, as we close out the year with our Games of the Year episode! What makes this episode extra special this time around is that we recorded LIVE to conclude our Extra Life campaign. We kick off the episode by catching up on The Game Awards and their Game of the Year winner, and will have more thoughts on the announcement next week. Moving into our Games of the Year, we start with our Top 5, followed by Honourable Mentions, then plan for the future with Games We Missed. TGI 629 – Spider-Man Rivals
Jocelyn is off this week, so Crofton returns to the Inn with his new favourite past time: Playing as Spider-Man in Marvel Rivals! Ryan on the other hand goes on an adventure with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Wrapping up what we’re playing, Crofton shares his latest family co-op game with Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime. In the news, Valve may have some future Steam OS software and hardware surprises, publishers aren’t ready to commit on 2025 until GTA VI does first, and Rocksteady wraps up Suicide Squad with Season 4.
TGI 628 – Ryan Finished Laser Eyes
You read that episode title correctly, Ryan finished Lorelei and the Laser Eyes! Without delay Jocelyn and Ryan dive in to a spoiler filled discussion surrounding the game. Afterwards, they do a quick recap of Extra Life events from the past few weeks, while previewing what’s to come before the end of the year. In the news, Valve lays out some ground rules for how a season passes work on Steam, PlayStation brings game streaming to the Portal without a PS5 (and possibly has a handheld version of the PS5 in the works), video game corporations say the quiet part out loud when it comes to retro games, and Tencent’s homework looks a bit too close to Horizon.
TGI 627 – Ryan Started Laser Eyes
We kick off the show with a chat surrounding the nominees for The Game Awards. Then Ryan travels back in time for the 20th anniversary of Half Life 2. But worry not, for Ryan did get some time in with Lorelei and the Laser Eyes much to Jocelyn’s relief. Over in the news, Secret Level gets a second trailer, Blizzard celebrates 30 years of Warcraft, Microsoft confirms an Xbox handheld is in the works, and Mythic Quest Season 4 confirmed for January 2025.
TGI 626 – Doki Doki Bargaining Club
Jocelyn has come to bargain in exchange for Ryan playing Lorelei and the Laser Eyes, which oddly leads to Jocelyn possibly watching all of the Knuckles series for Extra Life? Anyways, Jocelyn keeps up her end by playing Doki Doki Literature Club and Slay the Princess. Ryan continues to delay Laser Eyes with a 20 year old book by Chris Kohler titled Power-Up: How Japanese Video Games Gave the World an Extra Life and his continuing adventures in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. In the news, Nintendo keeps their legal team busy by suing a content creator for streaming pirated content and an update on the Palworld lawsuit, while a Mass Effect television show is confirmed to be in the works at Amazon.
TGI 625 – Extra Life Voyage Royale
With Extra Life Game Day 2024 behind us, it’s time to recap our awesome 12 hour stream! We go over our time in Fortnite, Dead by Daylight, and Sea of Thieves from our November 2nd event. After our Extra Life chatter, Ryan wraps up his time with Alan Wake II after completing The Lake House DLC (not to be confused with the movie). Plus, we kick off our Dragon Age: The Veilguard content as both Ryan and Jocelyn take their first steps in this new BioWare adventure. In the news, Microsoft says Call of Duty helped add a record number of subscribers to Game Pass, Nintendo continues to not announce the Switch 2 with the Nintendo Music app, and Nintendo teases a few details about the Switch Successor which is still set to be revealed before this end of fiscal (April 2025).
TGI 624 – Exploring the Lake House
Extra Life Game Day is just around the corner, but we manage to squeeze in a new episode with our hype for the upcoming Dragon Age: The Veilguard and Ryan’s continuing adventures in Alan Wake II with the Lake House DLC. Over in the news, Ubisoft disbands the Lost Crown team and moves them to other projects, Sony closes Concord studio and cancels game, Animal Crossing Pocket Camp lives on, and Xenoblade Chronicles X may just be the sunset for Nintendo Switch.
TGI 623 – Princesses of Spooky Season
After a false start, The Gamers’ Inn regains it’s footing a little later in the week to discuss Jocelyn’s new found obsession in Fortnite, while Ryan recaps his AvenDaDs Extra Life event and his descent into madness with Slay the Princess: The Pristine Cut. Over in the news, Xbox hosted a Partner Showcase, Vampire Survivors says the quiet part out loud with it’s Ode to Castlevania DLC, that Nintendo play test leaked IMMEDIATELY, and Netflix shuts down it’s AAA game studio before it has a chance to release a game.
