TGI 641 – Nintendo $witch 2
Due to a massive ice storm that rolled through last week, we had to delay our Nintendo Switch 2 Direct discussion. But we’ve got power back now and we’re ready to talk Nintendo! Before that though, Ryan finally played Astro Bot on PlayStation 5 (not the pack in), and saw A Minecraft Movie with the family. As for the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct… Lots of info is still up in the air as of this recording, including game prices and pre-order delays.
TGI 640 – That’s Good Water!
After being off last week, we return to discuss the conclusion to Ryan’s adventures in the Living Lands as he’s completed Avowed. In the news, we kick things off with AI, specifically Microsoft’s plans to bring Copilot to Xbox. Also, we have Game Informer returning with all of its previous staff. Kayden and Ryan watch Minecraft Live, and we share our thoughts on the Dreamhaven Showcase.
TGI 639 – Split on the Fiction
We kick off the show with our thoughts on the return of BlizzCon in 2026, followed by Jocelyn’s split screen adventures in Split Fiction. After discussing our TGI Game Club for The Legend of Zelda: Twlight Princess for a bit, we move into the last week in video game news. We know a bit more about some functionality of the Nintendo Switch 2 thanks to an FCC filing, The Last of Us Season 2 has a new trailer, LEGO reveals a new Mario Kart set for your shelf, and reports detail plans for what’s next from Xbox hardware wise.
TGI 638 – Welcome to the Sonic Museum
The first half of the show has a weirdly Sonic feel as Ryan watched Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Jocelyn found Sonic in her Two Point Museum. Quickly moving away from the blue blur, Jocelyn finds a lot of fun in this business simulation game from Two Point Studios. Ryan continues his movie thoughts with George A. Romero’s Resident Evil, a documentary about the failed Resident Evil film adaptation from legendary zombie director George A. Romero. Closing out what we played, Jocelyn started her adventures in Avowed. In the news, we go over the latest Pokémon Presents, 8Bitdo releases a follow up to their best controller offering, A Minecraft Movie got a final trailer, and Monster Hunter Wilds becomes Capcom’s fastest selling game in just 3 days.
TGI 637 – Shadow of Wardor
Ryan welcomes Jocelyn to the world of Avowed and how if you loved Skyrim like we did, Avowed is an excellent follow up! You know, since a certain fellow Xbox Studios isn’t bringing Elder Scrolls 6 anytime soon. After a quick update on TGI Game Club, we move over to the news, where WB Games closes down three studios, Fable slips to 2026, LEGO Horizon Adventures gives us an affordable Horizon LEGO set, Yuri Lowenthal says Peter Parker will be off the couch in Spider-Man 3, and Pokemon GO is up for sale.
TGI 636 – My Civilization for a Patch
Jocelyn returns with tales of technical and gameplay woes for Civilization VII, add another one to the dreaded Skyward Sword list. Ryan on the other hand has been really enjoying Eternal Strands and finished it up this week. Plus we have a few weeks worth of news from Warner Bros continuing to flounder with games, Nintendo makes some changes to Gold Points and the Voucher system for Switch 2, and our favourites from the latest PlayStation State of Play.
TGI Mini – Minecraft Chat with Kayden
Jocelyn is off sick this week, so Kayden jumped in for a TGI Mini talking about Minecraft! He’s all in on the game, and has thoughts on survival and creative modes, Super Mario Minecraft Edition, plus some Minecraft books, and the Minecraft movie coming soon. We close out the show with a quick fire reaction to the latest PlayStation State of Play (with more thoughts next episode when Joce returns).
TGI 635 – The Sims Friendship Manager
Jocelyn travels back in time with The Sims Legacy Collection from EA, and finds managing friends in the early 2000’s was actually pretty complex! Joce also shares her quick thoughts on the Heroes of Starcraft Mini-Set in Hearthstone. Ryan on the other hand checks out Eternal Strands, which is from the previous Dragon Age Creative Director. In the news, PlayStation is dropping PS account requirements for certain games, EA says a bunch of OOF stuff about Bioware, and MultiVersus will be shut down in May by Warner Brothers.
TGI 634 – Who Are The Roottrees?
We kick off the show with our adventures in registering for the Nintendo Switch 2 Experience in Toronto, which sadly ended with no tickets. Ryan finished up Arcane Season 2 while out on the road, while Jocelyn continues her Laser Eyes search with The Roottrees are Dead (Game Jam version available on Itch.io). Over in the news, Resident Evil is getting another movie reboot, Microsoft shows off the next 6 months or so of Xbox games, and The Sims 1 & 2 may be making a return.
TGI 633 – Knock-On Oopsie
We promise this isn’t going to turn into a Fortnite podcast, but let’s start the show with Godzilla invading Fortnite. Ok, now as we move away from Fortnite, Ryan completed his adventures in Dragon Age: The Veilguard and has final thoughts to share. Over in the news, the Until Dawn movie got it’s first trailer, Nintendo finally reveals the Nintendo Switch 2 and those leaks were spot on, PlayStation cancels two more unannounced live service games, and Marvel Snap gets caught up in that TikTok mess.
