TGI 582 – Super Firebyrd RPG
This week Firebyrd from The Gamers’ Inn Discord guests on the show to bring the Disgaea franchise to the podcast with it’s latest release. Firebyrd has also been playing Picross games on the 3DS and checked out Super Mario RPG on the Wii U Virtual Console. This leads into what Ryan has been busy with since the 17th: the Super Mario RPG Remake on Nintendo Switch! After wrapping up the remake talk, we move over to Worldless, a brand new 2D platforming, turn based action game. Moving into the news Blizzard gives Heroes of the Storm fans hope with yet another patch, The Last of Us franchise is getting another re-release with the remaster of Part II on PS5, and Embracer continues it’s downward spiral.
TGI 581 – Crofton Got a PS5
A scorned Crofton from Dungeons and Diapers guests on the show after being bounced around on the schedule a bit, but once we sort through that mess we’re ready to talk about Crofton getting a PlayStation 5 for Spider-Man 2! Ryan on the other hand has been enjoying The Invincible on PlayStation 5, and You Will Die Here Tonight on Steam. Moving into the news, Steam Deck is getting an OLED upgrade and The Game Awards has announced their nominations.
TGI 580 – Regis III and the Return of BlizzCon
Joining Ryan this week to help recap all the announcements at BlizzCon is Manny from For Azeroth! But before we get to the return of BlizzCon, Ryan explores Regis III in The Invincible, we go over The Legend of Zelda movie announcement, and recap our efforts from Extra Life Game Day. Moving to BlizzCon, we discuss the various updates from Overwatch, Diablo, Hearthstone, and World of Warcraft.
TGI 579 – Party Time Quoth The Nevermore
Nevermore returns to The Gamers’ Inn and kicks things off with Party Animals, giving a preview for one of the games we’ll be showcasing on Extra Life Game Day this year. Next Nevermore makes us all eager to order pizza with Good Pizza, Great Pizza on Steam. Following that, we get an update on PlateUp! and Sea of Thieves. Plus Ryan provides spoiler free thoughts on Spider-Man 2 on PlayStation 5. Wrapping up the show we unveil our full Extra Life Game Day schedule. Hope to see everyone out on Saturday, November 4th!
TGI 578 – Trying To Win Beneath Oresa
Travis returns to the Inn to discuss his time with the PlayStation 5 version of Baldur’s Gate III, including his journey for the Platinum Trophy and providing details on the Dark Urge play through. Ryan on the other hand has been playing a 3D fighting roguelike deckbuilder called Beneath Oresa on his Steam Deck. Wrapping up what we’re playing, we provide an overview on our latest Extra Life event with the AvenDaDs and our adventures in various N64 games. Moving into the news, it’s finally over… Microsoft has closed their acquisition of Activision Blizzard KIng, and addresses when we can expect to see those games arrive on Game Pass. Also, PlayStation Plus Premium gets a PS5 Cloud Gaming upgrade this month.
TGI 577 – Cyperpunk Spy Thriller
First off, a big Gamers’ Inn welcome to Baby Kearney who arrived on Friday, October 6th, make sure to send your congrats to Jocelyn and Matt! This week I’m joined by Monica, a.k.a. Wicked Kitten from GORE Podcast and Hearthcasual, to get into the Halloween spirit with talk of scary movies and Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle. Plus, Monica checks out Baldur’s Gate III as her first RPG, and Ryan has made it into the Phantom Liberty content of Cybperpunk 2077. In the news, the Unity CEO is stepping down, more updates on the soon to hopefully be done Activision Blizzard acquisition, Cyberpunk 2077 to receive a live action adaptation, Animal Crossing gets the LEGO treatment, Nintendo will sunset online services for 3DS and Wii U in April 2024, and PS5 will have a new look this holiday season.
TGI 576 – DLC REvivals with Jon
This week Ryan welcomes Jon Jagger from the CORE podcast back to The Gamers’ Inn to discuss the Resident Evil 4 Separate Ways DLC, as well as our return to the world of Cyberpunk 2077 for the Phantom Liberty expansion. For video game news, we catch up with the highlights from the past few weeks including an update from Unity, Jim Ryan retiring from PlayStation, the latest for Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard (please let this end), Netflix adapting MORE video game properties, and Epic layoffs.
TGI 575 – Navigating the Sea of Stars
With Jocelyn now on leave as she awaits Baby Kearney, Ryan welcomes our first guest co-host Travis! Our main focus this episode is on Sea of Stars, a brand new RPG that launched across all platforms (and a few subscription services too). TGI 574 – Exploring Story in the Starfield
We’ve got Starfield on the brain as both Jocelyn and Ryan have started their adventures in the Starfield. Before that we confirm that Jocelyn will be taking a bit of a break from TGI as she welcomes Baby Kearney into the world. TGI 573 – Roll for Podcast Check
Ryan and Jocelyn are ready to chat about Baldur’s Gate III as Jocelyn has now had a chance to play the game. We talk about the initial learning curve and talk through some of those early hurdles in the game. And yes, the Quick Save/Quick Load conversation pops up again. In the news, Nintendo hosted a Super Mario Bros Wonder Direct and may have shown the Switch 2 behind closed doors. Also Lenovo unveils another Steam Deck competitor and Saints Row developer Volition has been shutdown.
