Travis returns to the Inn to discuss his time with the PlayStation 5 version of Baldur’s Gate III, including his journey for the Platinum Trophy and providing details on the Dark Urge play through. Ryan on the other hand has been playing a 3D fighting roguelike deckbuilder called Beneath Oresa on his Steam Deck. Wrapping up what we’re playing, we provide an overview on our latest Extra Life event with the AvenDaDs and our adventures in various N64 games. Moving into the news, it’s finally over… Microsoft has closed their acquisition of Activision Blizzard KIng, and addresses when we can expect to see those games arrive on Game Pass. Also, PlayStation Plus Premium gets a PS5 Cloud Gaming upgrade this month.

Wicked Kitten from GORE Podcast and Hearthcasual, to get into the Halloween spirit with talk of scary movies and Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle. Plus, Monica checks out Baldur’s Gate III as her first RPG, and Ryan has made it into the Phantom Liberty content of Cybperpunk 2077. In the news, the Unity CEO is stepping down, more updates on the soon to hopefully be done Activision Blizzard acquisition, Cyberpunk 2077 to receive a live action adaptation, Animal Crossing gets the LEGO treatment, Nintendo will sunset online services for 3DS and Wii U in April 2024, and PS5 will have a new look this holiday season.

Yes, you read that correctly, Jocelyn watched Sonic 2 because of your awesome Extra Life donations in 2022. However, we didn’t record an audio commentary, as we figured a podcast discussion would be the most accessible way to hear Jocelyn’s journey through this SEGA epic. While we didn’t think we could talk about Sonic 2 for an hour, we sort of did… But fear not! We have a few video game news stories as well with the increase in price for PlayStation Plus tiers and the confirmation that Elder Scrolls 6 has entered early development.

We kick things off this week with a look forward to Starfield as Ryan contemplates how he’s going to finish Baldur’s Gate III by September 6th, although he did just wrap up Act I and is making his way through Act II of BG III. Jocelyn on the other hand checked in on the Texas Chain Saw Massacre game, which shouldn’t surprise anyone given her love of Dead by Daylight. Finally, Ryan took a break from clicking through a giant RPG with the latest swashbuckling adventure, En Garde! Moving into the news, Charles Martinet is stepping back as the voice of Mario, Xbox has some new wraps for the Series X, PlayStation Portal is the new Remote Play device from Sony, and our highlights from Gamescom 2023.
